A lot has been going on lately… most importantly, my dad being in the hospital. He went in for an angioplasty on Tuesday, but how I received the news was even more last minute: my sister called me, the day of, telling me that our mom had just called her, to let us know he was in the hospital. This last minute notification is provided by my parents “Not wanting us (my sister and I) to worry.”
I was really angry at first, seeing as though just a few days before, I had more than enough funds to buy a plane ticket and fly out to NY, but after paying bills over the weekend, I’m back down to zero. My mom and my dad are both extremely stubborn individuals (so much, that my dad refused to let my aunt drive him home from the hospital, and took a cab instead.) and they try to protect both my sister and I at any cost, which I appreciate but… yknow, everything has its limits.
Thankfully, my dad has been released from the hospital, and is at home now, resting. He’s a real life superhero, nothing has been able to stop him. He also has a super-sweet tooth (which is where I get it from). So I’m keeping it simple, and sweet today: strawberry milk. This strawberry syrup is great in milk, yogurt, over ice cream, and on a spoon!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go set up mandatory Skype chats with both of my parents, as punishment to them for lying by omission.
