Experiment V – Day 4

Yay! We’re more than half way over!! Day 4 began like day 3: I didn’t eat breakfast. I love breakfast, only in the following forms: cereal (w/milk), baked goods (pancakes, waffles, muffins,) or eggs. Fruit, nuts, veggies and tea just aren’t my thing first thing in the morning.

We’ve decided on having lunch be our biggest meal of the day, and then for dinner, we have some kind of lighter soup. It’s been working out pretty well. For lunch I decided on some beans, veggies and rice in a small whole wheat tortilla. It was filling but… still felt like it was lacking something.

Overall during the day, I don’t really feel hungry. This is, I’m assuming, partially because I’m genuinely full from what ever meal we’ve had, and also partially because nothing has been able to satisfy any of my cravings, and I’d rather be hungry than eat 1 more salad.

My favorite thing right now is having a bowl of green grapes with chunks of kiwi, and a spoonful of peanut butter on the side. The other day the BF and I realized we had about 5 different kinds of peanut butter/non-peanut butter spreads.

Isn’t that insane? If you were to ask me “Hey Cathy, what do you think about peanut butter?” I’d probably say “Meh, it’s good I guess.” I’m NOT a peanut butter super-lover, so I have no idea how we’ve acquired so many different kinds. (Don’t get me started on the whole “Is honey, vegan?” debate because bees are jerks, therefore I will gladly eat their honey. End of story.)

Irritability and sleepiness are still issues. About being sleepy, I’m still getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, so I don’t know why I’m so tired throughout the day. I went to the doctor and everything checked out A-OK, so I’m left to believe it’s because of our drastic change in our diet. This has been the biggest downfall. I hate being so tired throughout the day; I have little-to-no energy to get anything done. Boo.

We missed the gym tonight, and we had a small amount of dairy with dinner tonight. I’m OK with both of those things, because by the time dinner rolled around, I had a massive headache (coming from someone who NEVER gets headaches,) and the BF felt really off too. I think we both just needed a night off.

I’m going to try and conquer breakfast tomorrow… hopefully. Ok day 5, I shall see you in the morning.

I commend vegans for their ethics and sticking to them. Me, I like meat and have no qualms about eating it. I was veggie for 8 very long years and hated it. Now that I have a choice when/if I want to eat meat I’m healthier and happier. Also: Tofu is wrong. It’s a crime against food. And don’t even start me on “cheez shredz”. Gah. Good luck!
