They say:
“…aroma and a hint of sweetness and fresh organic basil to lend a slight herbal note and basil aftertaste…”
I say:
This ale has a beautiful scent; it’s bursting with a basil and floral perfume. It’s a big bubbly ale, with a crisp and light texture. The taste however, kind of threw me for a loop. Initially it’s very basil-y, almost potent. The bitterness proudly steps in immediately after, and this is what I find lacking about this ale; the bitterness and the basil have no connection. There’s nothing smooth about this ale, no sweetness, no creaminess. A little too floral and bitter for this beer novice.
I just realized I’m about 5-7 weeks behind. Oy. Looks like I’ll be buying tons o’ beer this week to catch up!
Gee! I am sure the BF loves when you have that look, that means he gets a lot of brews to finish
Thanks for your review!
Looking forward to tracking this one down. We made an herb beer with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme last year that was delicious. But, basil and honey? Sold!
I think I’d probably have the same face. Did you finish it?
